MCHS First Time Parent Video & Grade 9 Virtual Open House
March 1, 2021 - Memorial Composite High School is happy to welcome area Grade 9 students and their parents/guardians to participate in our first ever Virtual Open House.
In lieu of our traditional in-person meeting for parents & guardians whose children are entering high school for the first time, we've also put together a First Time Parent Information Video.
First Time Parent Information Video
Is your first child beginning their high school journey this fall? If so, this video will guide you through the high school registration, transition and course selection process, and give you a good idea of what you and your child have to expect as you make the move to MCHS and beyond.
For more information about the programs available at MCHS, visit Our Programs page.
For more information about the registration process, visit Parkland School Division's Registration page.
If you have additional questions after viewing the video, please participate in our Virtual Open House and/or contact MCHS Student Services at 780-963-2255.
Virtual Open House
Date: Thursday, March 4
Location: Virtual Meetings through Google Meet
How to Participate
Our staff has put together a number of videos designed to introduce incoming high school students to the many different course options they have to choose from at MCHS. Links to these videos have been posted below, and you can watch them at any time leading up to our Open House to get a general idea of what courses may be a good fit for you. Additional course information and videos can also be found on Our Programs pages.
During our Virtual Open House, you can follow the Google Meet links to connect with teachers from each high school department, who will be happy to answer any remaining questions you may have, so you can feel confident plotting your course through Grade 10 and beyond. Administrative staff will also be on hand to answer your general questions about the high school experience and registration process.
No formal presentation will be made during this event, but participants will be able to discover all the opportunities our high school has to offer, and meet some of the staff they will encounter over the three years they spend at MCHS.
We look forward to seeing you at our virtual event! If you have any remaining questions after the event, feel free to contact us at the school.
